When the mob gets to you, frost nova it, and ice lance it until the nova breaks. Pull with a frostbolt, then arcane missiles.ģ. Get near, with arcane intellect, dampen magic, and mage armor.Ģ. Sometimes, there’s only one that you can pull at a time. Wasn't decreasing their speed the whole point of cone of cold? This doesn't work, because it decreases your speed and the elementals can catch up to you. One of my early mistakes was to run around backwards. Run around in circles using arcane explosion. You guessed it- use blizzard until they charge at you.Ħ.

Here's where I put on fire ward so that when frost nova breaks, their attacks will be absorbed and they won't interrupt the end of blizzard.Ĥ. Once the elementals are in the same area frost nova them, and back away a few steps. Now, use ice lance to pull all the elementals.ģ. Some people like to put on fire ward here, but I wait for later. Make sure you've got dampen magic, mage armor, and arcane intellect on.Ģ. Head on your flying mount to one of the tiny hills that are everywhere. If you see a group of 3-4 within reasonable range of each other without many basilisks/scorch imps nearby, here's what you do:ġ. There are only a couple areas that you can do this. And you're hearing this from a fire mage with no points in frost at all. Plan on maybe 2-4 primals an hour, depending on luck.Ĭomment by ThottbotIf you want to farm at least 4 primals/hour on average, Skald in BeM is the best choice. The green lava pools and occasional earth elemental/spawn of Uveros that pats through can be kind of a nuisance, but are all easily circumvented with a little ingenuity. There can be 3 or 4 other farmers in the area, and you can still stock up without too much elbow rubbing. The simple fact that these are lvl 65-67 mobs, without a fireshield, spread very abundantly over a large area, makes this the ideal place to farm. The droprate in SMV can be pretty sad at times, and you can go for several kills without getting one, but that can be said about anywhere. BEM has a SLIGHTLY better drop rate than SMV, but with all the baskilisks and imps running around, on top of other farmers in a very small area, your overall outcome is probably the lowest for the most effort. But, factor in the constant farming from other players (your faction or not) and the overall outcome evens out with both BEM and SMV not to mention they have a lot more hp and have a fireshield.
