You can get a yellow Yoshi in this level, but I highly recommend using a blue one to get the key. If Yoshi swallows the Koopa shell, don't worry there are plenty of Koopas in this level. However if any colored blocks remain unfilled, you will need to keep Yoshi and use him to bridge any gaps. If you¿ve filled in all four colors of blocks, ditch Yoshi on top of the yellow ones and proceed to the right to collect your prize. Swallow the first Koopa with blue Yoshi and fly along the ceiling of the level. I highly recommend the services of blue Yoshi for Star Road 5 whether or not you¿ve gotten the switch palaces yet. Star Road 4 is probably where you will meet red Yoshi for the first time, although he has been known to hang out in Star Road 1 from time to time.ĭid you think Star World 4 was tough without the Switch Palaces? Well, you ain¿t seen nothin¿ yet. Spit the shell out at the Question Mark Block to pop out the key. If the blocks are filled in, you can just jump down there and get the key, but if not you will need to fly down there with Yoshi. The keyhole is under the platform towards the end of the level. Remember to recycle your Koopa shell often by bowing and spitting it out. Blue is preferable, but green and yellow should be ok thanks to the abundance of blue Koopas in the beginning of the level. You will want any Yoshi except a red one. However, if you can get your hands on Yoshi, you can get the key without the switch palace. Star World 4 is much, much easier if you have found all of the Switch Palaces. Remember how I said Star Road could lead you right to Bowser¿s door? Well here¿s the catch. Star World 3 is where you will meet yellow Yoshi for the first time. Be quick, because the cloud doesn't last forever. If you get the cloud, the key is above you, but you have to pass through the roof in the center. Be careful not to grab a block when it¿s the only thing keeping you out of the bottomless pit. In addition, you have to do it close enough to the "stairs" so that you can jump into the cloud once the Lakitu vacates it. To get the key you have to kill the Flying Lakitu in a very specific way. It is so short that you may want to run through the gate once so that you can activate the option to go back from the Start button menu. Star World 3 is without a doubt the shortest level in any Mario game ever, and I am confident that this record will stand the test of time. Swim along that narrow space without falling off of the screen and you will reach the key. When you get to the end of the level you will see that there is a lot of room to pass under the pipe leading to the surface. It is also, however, a very difficult way to earn only a few extra lives, and I find it much easier to let Yoshi swallow the star and get my mega lives elsewhere. Since your points multiply every time you kill something while invincible, this is one way to earn a few extra lives. If you are still invincible when you reach the second Question Mark Block you will get another star instead of a coin, extending you duration of invincibility. Then, using baby Yoshi as a pool toy, swim quickly to the right touching all the bad guys yourself instead of letting Yoshi eat them. Hardcore players insist that you have to deny Yoshi the chance to eat the falling star, and instead use the star yourself. Star World 2 is a water level, and its also where you first meet Blue Yoshi. Have a little patience and the key will soon be in your hands. Stand up against the rightmost wall and start breaking the bricks with the A-Button jump. Just drop down to the yellow bricks and run all the way to the right. You have to be big, but that shouldn¿t be a problem since there's a yellow block right in the beginning of the level. Otherwise, you can spend a long time before you find the key. Star World 1, is terrifically easy if you know what you¿re doing. In addition, if you¿re the type who likes to beat your video games in the first hour of ownership, a fully opened Star Road will allow you to march right up to Bowser¿s Front Door, bypassing all but the first castle and four of the seven worlds. Often you will need to take a quick jaunt back to the Top Secret area to pick up some goodies, and Star Road is the perfect route to significantly shorten your trip. Unlocking the entire Star Road is a great way to quickly get around in Dinosaur Land.
